Our mission
Schools should not define your network. We build the bridge between students and professional opportunity.

We're closing the gap between talent and access, one honest conversation and one open door at a time. Because we're students ourselves, our sessions move fast and land differently: real professionals, direct questions, and a clear path from a single talk to an actual internship or contact.

Founded by NYC students who have led youth initiatives with organizations like The Knowledge Society and NYC for Youth, and seen firsthand how a single internship can change a life.

Why it matters

Talent is everywhere. Access isn't.

01

No real-world guidance

Classes teach students how to pass a test, but not how to write a resume, land an interview, or build a network.

02

No professional networks

Most public high school students are never given contacts in tech, law, or business: the connections that actually open doors.

03

No follow-through

Traditional career fairs leave students excited about the future but with no idea how to actually start.

Program goals

What we set out to accomplish

Four commitments that guide every session, plus one outcome we hold ourselves to.

1

Show why real experience matters

We walk students through what internships actually look like, drawing on our own time in the courtroom and with the Legal Aid Society, so the value is concrete, not abstract.

2

Connect students with diverse speakers

We bring in professionals across a balanced range of careers, so students hear from people whose paths they might never otherwise encounter.

3

Bridge learning and doing

We link students directly to internships and programs with a clear, one-page guide to active openings, deadlines, and quick outreach tips.

4

Coach students to tell their story

We show students how to frame their achievements, service, and experience into a polished, marketable resume.

1 in 4Our measurable goal

At least one in four students should leave with something real: a professional contact, a day shadowing, or a summer internship.

Less than an hour to change a student's trajectory.

What we do

Three moving parts, one clear path

1

Raw speaker talks

A 45-minute Q&A where a professional shares their real career journey, the hard lessons, and the industry realities students never hear in class.

2

Direct student connections

After the talk, we connect speakers with driven students who want resume feedback, advice, or follow-up questions in their field.

3

Opportunity pipelines

We work with speakers and companies to open doors: internships, openings that fit, and contacts worth sharing.

Our story

Access, built by the people who needed it

Having led youth initiatives and worked alongside organizations such as The Knowledge Society and NYC for Youth, we have seen firsthand how a single internship can shape a student's future. We're building the program we wish we'd had: honest, fast-paced, and pointed squarely at real opportunity.

About us

Students who decided to build the bridge themselves

We started the NYC High School Network because we lived the gap it closes. Between internships in the courtroom, work with the Legal Aid Society, and youth leadership programs, we saw how much a single connection can change, and how few students ever get one.
